This meeting of the International Endotoxin and Innate Immunity Society will take place over 4 days beginning at 3pm Wednesday 30th July 2008. The theme is “Microbial structures - host-pathogen interactions and the impact of innate immunity on disease”.

Program
Wednesday 30th July
The session will begin at 3pm with scientific presentations on Evolution of Innate Immunity and keynote lectures by Jules Hoffmann and Bruce Beutler. This will be followed by a Welcome Reception and whisky tasting.
Thursday 31st July
Full day beginning at 8.00am with Scientific Presentations on Endotoxin structure and function, LPS recognition, Innate Immunity and disease and Adjuvants – Agonists – Antagonists, and a parallel veterinary session entitled “Endotoxin, innate immune responses and animal models in veterinary disease”. Early evening poster session and refreshments.
Friday 1st August
Full day beginning at 8.00am with presentations of selected abstracts, IEIIS Young Investigator Award and parallel sessions on Infections and Sepsis, Pathogens – Phagocytes, Complement and Extracellular Factors and a parallel veterinary session entitled “Endotoxin and Equine Disease”, the latter sponsored by the Horserace Betting Levy Board. A final plenary session on Innate Immune Signalling is followed by an optional Society Banquet, (3 course dinner plus wine), with traditional Scottish ceilidh, at the 4 star Hilton Grosvenor Hotel, Haymarket, Edinburgh, at a cost of £40 per person.
Saturday 2nd August
Half day of scientific presentations on Microbes – Structures – Phagocytosis and Interface - Innate and Adaptive Immunity.
The conference will adjourn at lunch time.
