Senior Press Officer

Salary:  £35,000 per annum

Whether it is climate change, stem cells or science education this role will involve presenting the views of the Society on the big issues in science.  You will also be involved in promoting the latest scientific breakthroughs. As the Society moves towards its 350th anniversary in 2010 the role of media relations will play a key part in reaching new audiences.  The ideal individual will have a first class track record in a busy press office or newsroom, a demonstrable interest in science, engineering and technology and an understanding of the major policy issues.  You will be proactive and creative, organised and flexible, a good writer and good with people.  The role also offers the potential to gain management experience.
