German biotech company amaxa AG announces the release of one Nucleofector® Kit and two 96-well Shuttle® Kits designed to transfect mouse dendritic cells. The kits enable researchers to investigate the function of these important immune cells.

Using nucleofection®, mouse dendritic cells can for the first time be transfected with high efficiency (up to 59%) and high cell viability (up to 93%). In parallel, the optimized parameters facilitate an excellent preservation of functionality, tested by the ability of nucleofected dendritic cells to secrete IL-6 triggered by induction with LPS.

All three kits are dedicated to the transfection of DNA, as well as, for siRNA. In addition, both 96-well Shuttle® Kits are optimized to work with low cell numbers (down to 2.5x104 mature cells per well of a 96-well Nucleocuvette®), thus saving precious animal resources.

In 2001, amaxa Nucleofector® Technology was successfully launched as a highly efficient non-viral transfection system. Suitable for simple application and high-throughput transfection, the Nucleofector® Technology almost instantly became the gold standard for the most complex transfection challenges like primary cells and difficult-to-transfect cell lines.
