We require a Laboratory Supervisor to work within a dynamic, highly specialised, and rapidly growing clinical laboratory. The laboratory provides sample accessioning and laboratory testing in support of commercial testing programs. As the biomedical scientist (BMS), you will supervise a team that is responsible for sample accessioning, and antibody laboratory testing within the Clinical Speciality Laboratory of the Clinical Lab Science group of a multinational pharmaceutical company, based in Cambridge.
Key Responsibilities will include:
§To enter sample data from commercial registry programs and clinical trial programs in a specialised laboratory information system.
§To monitor lab efficiencies and quality as they relate to sample receipt, data base entry, and inventory
§To ship samples for testing to a laboratory based in the USA and other CRO sites
§To participate in the opening of a satellite accessioning laboratory in the UK and provide support to the testing laboratory staff in sample procurement
§To work in support of post marketing studies.
§To supervise and provides development opportunities for direct reports.
§To provide data to the Laboratory Scientific Director as needed
§Travel to other company sites (U.S. & Europe) as required
To be considered for this opportunity you will hold a bachelor of Science degree in medical laboratory science with in depth experience of working in a clinical laboratory or Master of Science degree in medical laboratory science with proven experience of working in a clinical laboratory. It is also a requirement that you be registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC), or have equivalent registration or certification. Proven experience of working in a clinical laboratory including experience working with a laboratory information database/medical systems, knowledge in laboratory regulatory standards, accessioning, and immunoassay and ELISA testing are also essential requirements.
Excellent relationship building skills are necessary as you will be required to interact with other company sites outside of the laboratory, and good/proven people management skills will be required to allow the effective supervision of the group.
