More than 3% of the population suffer from some form of autoimmune disease and this meeting will bring together experts working with well-validated models of human autoimmunity. The emphasis of the meeting will be on the use of animal models to elucidate pathogenetic mechanisms of relevance to human disease and to develop novel therapeutic strategies.
